At UC Santa Barbara Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE), we’re not just talking about AI—we’re using it. Our instructors are integrating artificial intelligence into their teaching to give students real-world exposure to the tools reshaping every industry.

Take Nels Henderson, for example—one of our instructors at the forefront of AI integration in higher education. From using AI to enhance course content to helping students explore how these tools impact marketing, business, and communications, Nels brings a hands-on, forward-looking approach to the classroom. He teaches in our Digital Marketing Certificate Program and is just one of several instructors leading the way.

Our instructor, Henry Phan, guides students through the growing influence of AI in finance, accounting, and data analysis. His courses introduce real-world tools used to streamline workflows, surface insights, and support complex decision-making. Henry also challenges students to think critically about the accuracy, impact, and ethical implications of relying on AI in professional environments. He teaches in our Accounting and Finance Programs.
